CHAIRPERSONS ADDRESS 2008
It’s that time of year again.... The 2008 Eglinton Annual Show is approaching, and
preparations are well underway to make the day a success. As well as viewing the
class entries and side stalls, we have lined up a number of items to make the 2008
show a great family day out. There will be face painting, balloons, nail art, teas,
ice-cream, and games, to name but a few of the diversions on offer.
If that doesn’t whet your appetite, then how about our ‘Best Dressed Scarecrow’ competition!
It promises to provide lots of fun and laughter on the day, particularly for the
little ones. You can make a family or group entry.
Each year the committee strives to make the show a success and ensure its continuation
within the village. The support of all our sponsors and advertisers is paramount
to this, and to whom I offer our thanks. We always welcome new people onto our committee
who may bring fresh ideas to the show and help make it sustainable in the longer
term.
I look forward to seeing you on Saturday, 13th September 2008, and hope that you
can join us in the evening for our annual barbeque, followed by a night of music
by Hudson blue. Tickets are priced at £8.00 and are available from committee members.
